What this cube is
The standard AoSu V7 with UV coated plastic. Everything mechanical is shared with the uncoated build, ninety-six outer track magnets, the six-hole integrated core and the V-shaped sections, and the coating adds a satin surface that resists the shine a stickerless cube picks up from hand oils. On a big cube, which you hold for longer per solve, that surface change arrives faster than it does on a 3x3.
The coating is the only decision here, and on a 4x4 I think it is worth making. Big cube solves are long, hands get warm, and the difference between a coated and uncoated cube after a year of regular use is obvious to the touch. If the cube is going to see light use, save the money.

MoYu Culture — also known simply as MoYu — is a Chinese factory in Guangzhou that has been making speed cubes since 2008 and is famous among speedcubers for a tremendous release pace few rivals maintain.
