What this cube is
AoLong is the lighter chassis in MoYu's flagship range, and the carbon-fibre core version is the lightest and most rigid thing in it. The core is a new design that keeps the centres square under hard turning without adding mass, and the outer right-angle anti-twist geometry on the corner pieces is there to stop a corner rolling over when you push a turn through. Forty-eight magnets and the standard eight-by-eight dual adjustment.
This is the cube for someone whose current flagship feels planted and slow in the hand. It rewards precise, fast turning and punishes nothing except indecision. If you have only ever solved on a heavy magnetic 3x3 it will feel alarmingly loose for about twenty solves and then feel correct.

From the maker's listing
- High-strength carbon fiber core — Moyu new design, lightweight yet extremely rigid. Maintains stability through countless high-speed turns for consistent performance.
- 48-Magnet System - A full magnetic field for strong feedback and all-around stability.
- Dual Adjustment System - 8 Magnetic tension levels × 8 distance settings = 64 combinations, Customize from tight to loose, speed to control.
- Outer Right-Angle Anti-Corner Twist Design - The external right-angle anti-corner-twist design forms a solid physical stop on the contact surfaces of the edge pieces, effectively resisting accidental corner twists caused by large corner-cutting tolerance or inaccurate turning…

Pretty good
The technology in Rubik's cube has gotten pretty crazy with how many magnets there are, where the magnets are placed, what type of treatments the plastic has had etc. This product in particular is relatively simple for a speed cube compared to some of the higher end competition however I think it preforms great. I really like the UV coating, the added grip is genuinely helpful especially if like me your intermediate and turn the cube a lot of try and find pieces. Not my preference, but grab it if it fits yours!
I have two other speedcubes, and both are magnetic and have a matte finish. This is my first time using a UV finish cube. The finish does feel really nice. The smoothness is impressive, and it makes it a lot nicer when I'm using it as a fidget. But as far as solving goes, I feel like I just couldn't get as good of a grip as I could with my matte finish cubes. That said, I'm not taking off a star for that since I think it's just a preference thing. My husband actually preferred the finish in this one. It does turn
Excellent 3x3 to practice accurate turning
The Aolong V5 is pretty great. The lack of core and corner magnets on this version mean there is zero correction on turns. However, it’s fantastic to practice turning accuracy. The existing magnets hold the layers together, keeping the cube tidy. I used to use an old school cube with no magnets to practice my accuracy. The turning is very controlled. With slightly sharper edges than the weilong V11, the combination makes it feel more boxy, but I love the feel of it. The UV coating and color are on par with the be
Premium Speed Cube with Good Adjustability
I think that this speed cube is a thoughtfully designed upgrade for speed cube enthusiasts. The 48-magnet system provides precise alignment with a satisfying feel during each turn. I like the balance between responsiveness and control. The carbon fiber core keeps the cube lightweight while still giving it a solid construction. The adjustable tension system is one of the standout features. It allows me to customize the cube based on my personal solving preferences. Making adjustments is straightforward and does not
A Smooth Cube Worth Adding to the Rotation
I ordered this to try MoYu's newest 3x3 release alongside the other cubes in my practice rotation. The first time I picked it up, the turning felt smooth right out of the box with no break-in needed. Later, I adjusted the tension a notch tighter and the cube settled into a stable, controllable feel. Another time, I ran a set of timed solves alternating with my older cube, and the Aolong's corner cutting kept up without popping. There were small things I noticed too. The Good: the 48-magnet system gives a reassur
First speed cube and the factory setup already felt right
This is my first speed cube, and I got the 48 magnet matte version. I was not sure what to expect, but it is easy to use and the turns are really smooth. I was impressed with it right away and it went past what I thought a cube like this would feel like. The factory tension was already perfect for me, so I did not need to change much. The magnets feel medium, not overly strong, but they still hold well and the cube stays stable. No lockups and no corner twists so far. It comes with a storage box and an adjustment

What MoYu speed cubes are, in one paragraph
MoYu Culture — also known simply as MoYu — is a Chinese factory in Guangzhou that has been making speed cubes since 2008 and is famous among speedcubers for a tremendous release pace few rivals maintain. Cubing Classroom, generally sold as the MeiLong line, is its budget sub-brand; GuoGuan, SenHuan, MoJue and Cong sit alongside it inside the same group.
The flagship WeiLong is the single most notable example: it is the cube cubers reach for in competition, the one most often on the mat when a world record is set, and every upgrade carries real technology — a magnet count you can read off the box, MagLev tension, a ball core, a smoother and faster feel — rather than new artwork. A collection that began with one 3×3 — the puzzle most people still call a Rubik’s cube — now runs from 2×2 to 15×15, through shape puzzles like the Skewb and the Pyraminx, and into gift sets for beginners.
That is why MoYu stays popular with people who solve fast: big cube or small, the innovation sits in the layers where a solver can feel it, the turn stays stable, and the plastic keeps its look.
